She currently works as the Practice Manager and is working towards becoming a Certified Veterinary Practice Manager. Colleen didn't intend to be a part of the veterinary profession. She originally graduated from Idaho State University with a Bachelor's of Science in Physics, expecting to become a radiation safety engineer shortly afterwards. She started working at Community Animal Hospital in July 2011 as a kennel assistant because Dr. Alpert was one of the few poeple that was actually willing to work with her mostly midday class schedule. While working here, she has received training for and now works full time as an assistant, leaving ISU's sociology program to enroll in a CVT program at Cedar Valley College. She loves the work she does here at Community Animal Hospital as it's engaging, interesting, and fulfilling (being a rad control engineer would have been boring). As an assistant, Colleen can be found running lab work, and checking in patients or assisting with surgery prep and running anesthesia. She has an interest in, and frequently assists Dr. Ingvalson on, dermatology cases. As her parent's dog has food allergies, she loves seeing the quality of life improve for allergy pets' from having their itching and skin issues addressed. Colleen grew up in the hot and humid Central Valley of Northern California just outside of Chico. Her parents dragged her and her older sisters to Idaho Falls. Once she graduated from Idaho Falls High School, she moved to Pocatello so she wouldn't have to commute to atttend classes at ISU. The joke was on her - over half of her physics courses were held in Idaho Falls. Colleen is owned by a lanky orange tabby named Gaius Julius Butthead who comes when called, but only when called, "Juicy Juice". He enjoys sleeping next to the heater taking up most of the bed for his naps, and waking her up at 6:00 am on her days off so she'll feed him. He is also a champoin player of "Fetch" and an avid wand toy hunter. In her spare time, Colleen enjoys gaming of both the video and tabletop varieties and meets up with a group of friends to play DnD regularly. She also sews cute plush creatures and goes to comic conventions with her friends, draws and color, plays the flute, and never misses the the chance to go sand dollar hunting when she visits the coast. Currently, she's working on a rather snarky cross stitch project and will eventually save Hyrule while she's at it.

She has 3 dogs: Rocky, Fiona, and Annabelle. In her free time she enjoys hiking with her dogs and exploring new areas. She is passionate about animals and enjoys what she does.
Paige joined us summer of 2016. She is outgoing, vivacious and brings a great energy to the team. She graduated from Century High School and earned a bachelor in Animal and Veterinary Science (Pre-Vet), accompanied with a minor in Biology from the University of Idaho in the spring of 2016. She is aspiring to be a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and is actively applying for vet school. She hopes to be accepted to Washington State University. Paige enjoys spending time with her longtime boyfriend and best friend Andrew, as well as family and friends. Andrew and Paige have an adorable Pit bull named Athena, who is more spoiled than most children. She enjoys hiking, fishing, camping, video games and can often be found curled up with a blanket and a book in hand.
Justin has been with us since March, 2017 as a Kennel Assistant/Veterinary Assistant. Justin decided to join the veterinary field so that he can help those that don't have a voice. He is a firm believer that animals have big hearts that deserve unconditional love from their care takers. Justin has taken some college courses and is hoping to further his education and become a certified veterinary technician in the future. Some of Justin's favorite parts of his job are taking care of the dogs and cats that are boarding, making sure everyone is happy and healthy. He thoroughly enjoys taking the dogs on their walks, morning and evening. He also really enjoys grooming, assisting the doctors with patients, and keeping the hospital neat and tidy. Justin was born in Logan, Utah, moved to Boise at a young age, and eventually moved to Pocatello to be closer to family. He comes from a small family with 1 older brother, whom he is very close to.
